I turned in my final on Wednesday and graded my last final yesterday. That means it’s officially my summer!
In grad school world, this means it’s time to put myself on a schedule so I don’t waste these very critical three months. My plan is to get working by 9 a.m. every single day (just like the rest of the world, can you believe it?) and to do at least 90 minutes on long-term projects (so checking email doesn’t count) before I do anything procrastinatey. I also think I’m going to force myself to go into the office four out of five days each week. Because let’s face it. I’m a lot less likely to check Tumblr when people are constantly walking by my open door.
In real life world, of course, this means lake weekends, street festivals, outdoor concerts and movies, more camping trips, ice cream in Michigan (well, ice cream everywhere, really), fresh fruit, night swimming, eggs and coffee on my balcony, sweaty runs, jumping off the concrete breakers and into the lake - skyline at my back, early mornings to catch the sunrise, my grandparents’ Fourth of July party, my grandparents’  hammock, my grandparents’ screen porch, sparklers, windows down, having lots and lots of fun out here in the Middle West because there’s nowhere better when summer comes around.
