Want to help me redesign my bathroom?

I want to paint it and maybe get a new shower curtain. Maybe even do something a bit more labor intensive, like add knobs to the cabinets. But I’m really bad at making these kinds of decisions. Would any of you interior-design minded folks be willing to give me some advice?

This is what it looks like now:

I want to repaint the gold-ish walls, which make up a lot more of the bathroom than you see here, but you get the idea at least. I’d like to lighten the whole place up…make it brighter and cleaner. Ideally it’d look even a little bit beachy, but I’m not sure if I can accomplish that given the cherry cabinets and the color of the countertop.

Does anyone have any brilliant ideas? What color would you paint it? Any other suggestions?

  2. givenostorymakenoclaim answered: Brado- I would almost say an off white color would be best with the cherry cabinets, something a little darker of a white?
  3. citizenkerry answered: i have no ideas, but please post an “after” shot whatever you do. white? a map of the world shower curtain?
  4. bimsk answered: hmmm…have you checked out a little thing called pinterest? i believe danielle is their new ambassador. :)

  6. ashleymdavis answered: You could go with a really soft light yellow to continue the warm undertones of your tile, cabinets and countertops.
