January/February Resolutions

My January resolution was “work like I know I can work.” It went pretty well. I struggled a bit because I’ve been home, couch-bound, for weeks, and I can really only stare at my computer for so long before I get a headache and stop doing good work. But in general I was more focused than I normally am and found a decent rhythm each day. I also initiated some new projects and was a little better than usual about ignoring distractions.

My February resolution is to carry with me the lessons I’ve learned from having this broken ankle as I transition back into the real world. Don’t hurry so much. (I’ve already noticed myself rushing around now that I can walk a bit.) Pay attention and stop eating when you’re full. (I’m back into my manic food-loving, eating-too-fast mode.) Get plenty of sleep. (No problem maintaining this one yet.) Etc.

Oh, also in February I resolve to watch the Oscars. I love it, but it always sneaks up on me and I forget to tune in.
